Egils Olekans – Consultant
Egils is a commercial lawyer with 40 years experience practising in the areas of commercial legal, property, mining and resources law both as a corporate lawyer and in private practice.
He has acted for mining companies, listed and unlisted, landowners and private clients in a range of commercial matters with a focus on joint venture work, landowner access arrangements, native title agreements, compensation and land access agreements.
Egils co-authors a chapter in the LexisNexis’ Energy & Resources Law Reporter on Landholders’ Rights in the various Australian jurisdictions and was a member of the Department for Energy and Mining (South Australia) constituted Expert Panel of the Leading Practice Mining Acts Review 2017-2018.
He is a former State branch president and national board member of the Australian Mining & Petroleum Lawyers’ Association.
Egils holds a degree in Law and a Graduate Diploma in Land and Resources Law from Adelaide University.
